2025 Buick Envista: Modern and Dynamic

Red SUV parked in an outdoor urban setting with modern architecture in the background.

Buick is a brand I deeply respect. In just a decade, it has managed to shed its image as a beige automaker for older buyers and reinvent itself as a youthful brand offering modern, elegant, and fun-to-drive vehicles. The Envista is undoubtedly the most daring and advanced model in the Buick lineup. This small SUV from the American automaker has everything it needs to please, and its popularity has only grown since its launch.

Since the Buick Envista is still a relatively new model in the brand’s lineup, Buick has opted for a few small upgrades this year. The compact SUV now comes standard with remote start and rear cross-traffic alert across all trims. However, one of the most exciting new features is the stunning Aquamarine Blue color option.

Trims and Pricing

For 2025, the Buick Envista lineup is offered in three different trims, starting with the Preferred model, which also serves as the entry-level version. However, this is far from a basic vehicle—it includes heated power front seats, lane keep assist, and a digital dashboard with an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen. The Envista Preferred starts at $32,025.

Next up is the Sport Touring trim, which, as the name suggests, offers a sportier look. It’s just slightly more expensive, with a starting price of $33,225. Finally, the top-tier Avenir version adds a touch of luxury, coming in at $36,825.

Segment and Competition

The Buick Envista falls into the mainstream subcompact SUV category, but in practice, it can easily compete with more premium offerings. That’s what makes it so appealing—especially with its aggressive pricing. Let’s just say Buick hit a home run with a model that offers one of the best value propositions in its class.

Competitors: Chevrolet Trailblazer, Chevrolet Trax, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Kia Soul, Mazda CX-30, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (RVR), Nissan Kicks, Subaru Crosstrek, Toyota Corolla Cross, Volkswagen Taos.

Design and Technology

I believe boldness is essential for any automaker to stand out today, and that’s exactly what Buick has done with the Envista. This small SUV boasts a very eye-catching design and a unique personality. Yet, it remains elegant, and its proportions are spot-on. It’s a head-turner, no doubt about it.

Inside, the cabin is modern and upscale. The quality of the materials is impressive, and the sound insulation is also worth mentioning. Despite its compact size, the Envista is quite spacious and doesn’t lack any creature comforts. When it comes to technology, it also has a leg up on the competition in terms of both infotainment and driver assistance features.

Performance

The 2025 Buick Envista is offered with just one powertrain option: a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. Despite its small size, this engine delivers 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive is the only drivetrain available. Some might see that as a downside, but I think the combination works well for this small SUV. Plus, it helps keep fuel consumption low—8.4 L/100 km in the city and 7.4 L/100 km on the highway.

Weak Points

The Envista’s sleek styling does somewhat hinder visibility in certain areas. I’m also not a big fan of the digital dashboard design, though that’s more of a personal preference than an actual flaw.

Strong Points

This small SUV is enjoyable to drive and very comfortable. Its design is striking, and it comes loaded with advanced tech features.

Signature Element

The Buick Envista stands out from the competition thanks to its outstanding value for money.

Final Thoughts

Buick has been on a roll in recent years, and the Envista proves the brand can take bold steps and succeed. It’s a dynamic and youthful vehicle—one of my personal favorites this year. If you’re in the market for a new small family SUV, this is definitely a model worth considering.
